Hurghada, The Red Sea

Once a modest fishing port between the eastern Sahara desert and the Red Sea mountains, Hurghada is now Egypt's second biggest tourist area (the biggest being Sharm-el-Sheik). Consisting of a strip of resorts running 20 miles along the coastline, Hurghada is the ideal base for diving the famous shipwrecks of Sha'ab Abu Nuhas and the crystal-clear waters around the islands of Giftun and Abu Ramada. Hurghada is centrally located between Luxor, famous for its temples, and Cairo, famous for the Pyramids and Sphinx.

Sahl Hasheesh

Sahl Hasheesh (or Green Valley) is more than just a resort. It is a real town that combines all the facilities of a top resort with the atmosphere of a lively port. This green place on the Red Sea wille xpand over an area of 32 million square metres bordered by a sandy beach 12.5 kilometres long. 180 million euros have so far been invested just for roads, water pipes, earthworks and electric cables.

The resort community of Sahl Hasheesh is just 20km from Hurghada's international airport, and has a marina, four 18-hole golf courses, bars, restaurants, hotels, sports and leisure facilities, retail centre, and, of course, superb diving and snorkelling. It is a mega-project that heralds the beginning of a new era for tourism in Egypt.

Available now are 1 and 2 bedroom apartments from just €61,055. 500 units are currently available, and the resort will expand to include palatial 6 and 7 bedroom properties. General completion is planned for 2007.
